My child is between 2 and 5 years old. Is it still possible to have it christened ?

It is possible to receive baptisme at any moment of life. However, at this age, the preparation of the ceremony can become more difficult. It occurs that the Church advises to wait and to celebrate the christening later . Only a very serious reason could justify the christening at this age. The child is no longer a baby, and is now capable of understanding certain things through drawings, pictures, tales, games and songs. It is therefore asked that the child, together with its parents participates in encounters called "faith awakening". The aim with these meetings is to help the child to meet the God who loves him.
The wedding certificate is asked from church married parents ; often a birth certificate is asked from the others.
